LEAD COORDINATOR

A prominent, respected figure in the local Muslim community, Syed Soharwady provides his full, tireless support for the project. His extensive experience with the local Muslim community, and his religious knowledge, provide invaluable guidance to ensure the project is aligned with the beliefs and values of the community.

SECONDARY LEAD

President of the Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly, Malik Ashraf is well-known in the community. He has worked together with Syed Soharwady to bring about the conceptualization of the cemetery. He continues working to this day, bringing on donors, coordinating team members, and providing his support to every facet of the project to bring about it’s fruition.

TECHNICAL LEAD

A good friend of Malik Ashraf, Muhammad was brought on by him as a donor to the project, and a technical real estate expert. Working closely with ISL Engineering, LEES+Associates, and Western Water Resources, Muhammad continues to work to bring the project concept to life.

DIRECTOR

A director of the project, as well as a doctor, Dr. Mahmood is no stranger to supporting the community. A prominent community leader, a social worker, and a member of the Health Care industry in Alberta, Dr. Mahmood has been serving Calgary’s Muslim community for the past four decades. Along with this, he is the president of Sayyidah Khadijah Islamic Centre in Calgary South.

DIRECTOR

A well-known entrepreneur and successful business owner, Ali Shah lends his array of skills for the fulfillment of project goals as a director. As well as this, he is a leader at the Al Makkah Calgary Islamic Society, and runs the Al Makkah Islamic Centre in North West Calgary.

SUPPORT DIRECTOR

Shahzada supports multiple different aspects of the project, including collecting donations, as well as assisting other team members whenever needed. Being a hard-working motivated individual, and successful businessman by trade, his skills and knowledge are invaluable to the project.

TREASURER

Working as the treasurer, Mohammed Hasheem works tirelessly for the management and safekeeping of project funds. Beyond this, he is a Registered Physiotherapist and an entrepreneur, and owns several Physiotherapy Health care centers in and around Calgary. He is also a board member of the Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly.

FUNDRAISING HEAD

Altaf is a very motivated individual who works diligently to collect donations and raise funds in support of the project. Beyond this, he is known as an individual with many skills and areas of knowledge, always willing to lend a helping hand in his community.
